Canonical ha annunciato che Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) è da ora certificato per i mini-pc Intel NUC. Rilasciato ad Aprile 2016 Ubuntu 16.04 è una long term release che verrà supportata fino ad Aprile 2021 con ben 5 point release. L’ultima della serie, Ubuntu 16.04.5 LTS, dovrebbe arrivare ad Agosto 2018. Xenial Xerus è la sesta LTS release della storia di Ubuntu e anche l’ultima ad usare Unity.
